Emmer-compascuum, The Netherlands

Wow what a great sold-out performance in the far north of the Netherlands. Bassist David Ellefson played the Megadeth studio album Countdown To Extinction from 1992 live in its entirety here in Emmer-compascuum and added 3 bangers. Angry Again, 99 Ways To Die and finally my favorite Megadeth song of all time Peace Sells but who's buying!! A great performance (with a good backing band and super singer who came pretty close to Dave Mustaine himself). Furthermore, the performance took place in a nice atmospheric room on the edge of a meadow in the countryside. An authentic room in 70s style, with lots of wood, brown tiles and iconic orange lamps with fringes.

Even the beers were served in old-fashioned beer glasses from real glass. The sound was good, but was very loud, especially if you were too close to the speakers. Unfortunately, the audience was a bit tame, but that didn't spoil the fun for me as a Metal fan. I enjoyed every moment and was disappointed when it was over.

The American/Italian support act Mago was also nice. A bit of 90s Grunge mixed with Hard Rock/ Rock 'N Roll in the style of Soundgarden and Motorhead. A nice warm-up for a nice evening with good music and nice acquaintances.

Gerjan Koninenbelt, Erja Staal and Abhay van den Berg and his staff thank you so much for the great evening.

Thanks to Scott Buijs and Venom Tom for the good road trip. It was really great!
