First of all Black Knight is one of the finest old school Heavy Metal bands from the Netherlands, active since 1982! Throughout the years there were many line-up changes in the band, also with their singers. Which is a hard thing for a more progressive Metal band like Black Knight, Where singing qualities have the highest priority.  They found a great new vocalist in 2022 in the name of Henk Overbosch. His strained varied voice is more in the direction of Udo Dirkschneider (Accept), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear) and Chris Boltendahl from (Grave Digger) and other German leading heavy metal voices. Also there is a little Iron Maiden and Metal Church touch to find.  So the music is less Queensryche and Fates Warning influences like on their debut album ‘Tales From The Darkside’,  from the year 1998. Black Knight sounds much more European on their latest album The Tower. Which is not a bad thing, this because European Heavy Metal was and still is, always special too. The entire album is full of catchy bangers, full of great melodies, and great raging guitar parts and solo’s. This Heavy Metal band from the Amsterdam district was and will be always around top-notch drummer Rudo Plooy. It’s strange they are still so underrated, also in The Netherlands. Maybe this is because they never released a full album in the eighties. I don’t know? After several demo’s and four studio albums I would like to see them finally breaking through in the heavy metal scene. Because there is thunder and lighting and a lot of quality in this band!
