When Rhapsody came to the Metal scene in the nineties they started a new kind of metal Melodic Symphonic Power Metal. As they became very successful a lot of bands have tried the same, with a lot of varying measures of success. The ones that succeeded mostly came to our ears through record company Limb Music and producer Sascha Paeth in particular. Somehow they were alble to make these components come together and work accordingly.

Producer Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind) is the keyboardist in Wonders and he started the band in 2020 with the two brothers Lunescu from Even Flow. They are drummer Giogio and guitarist Pietro Paolo. And as a collective they have made a good job with Wonders. They have made sure that the good songs that were written are wrapped up in a good sounding Melodic Power Metal jacket. And he has done that with music which will remind you of early Stratovarius and Beast In Black, amongst others.

I must advise you that if you like your metal stepping outside the box, or crossing some preordained lines once in a while, this is not the album for you. This sounds as clean as if it has been treated with the most powerful anti-bacterial desinfectant. So if that is your thing, and you love your tradiitonal Power Metal, The Fragments of Wonder is well worth the listen.
