Metalcore usually isn't my thing, but once in a while something creeps up that is worth the listen. Not only that, it is also worth being mentioned and reviewed. Slaves Of Kali is a band that fits that category. Musically it is very interesting. It has that raw edge that you expect from a band in this genre. It's heavy when it needs to be, it' subdued when asked for and most importantly: there's enough variation in tempo and intensity to keep the music enthralling all through the album.

What is more demanding is getting used to the voice of Konrad Meyenberg. He doesn't sing, he doesn't grunt, he doesn't even scream. He makes throat noises that range from acceptable to downright manic. It is an acquired taste, and i have trouble adapting to it. If this is something that wouldn't bother you, don't hold back and give Slaves Of Kali a listen. If your interest peaks because of it, go to their bandcamp page, where you can order this one in physical CD form, as digital download or you can stream it.
