The Metal scene in Russia was always very good but always underrated and unknown for most Metalheads. Till the past 10 years, more and more bands are breaking through. Think about popular bands like ‘Siberian Meatgrinder’ and ‘Jinjer’. These are bands who are doing very good and who are reaching a bigger audience. Now it’s the turn for another great much more old school orientated band from St. Petersburg. The band just released their second album, again on this great German Metal label, Pure Steel / Underground Records. A label that’s focused and known for their dedication and big knowledge for and about old school Metal. The band Blazing Rust you can categorized in the same league of NWOTHM bands like: Stallion, Skull Fist and Blizzen. A bunch of young good looking longhaired headbangers playing traditional Metal. The great Music from the youth of their good old parents hehe. Really great Rifftastic guitarwork with some powerful bass and drums. Also the vocal ranges are very very good and it’s all in perfect English. The vocals do even remind me to Joey Tempest from the 80ies Hair Metal band Europe. Fucking great retro Heavy Metal act with a lot of early to mid-80s European as well US Metal influences. No Aria, Kruiz or Shah east block Heavy Metal rip off over here, these guys clearly grew up after the days of communism and got a very western sound and image and do perfectly. This album with some awesome fresh old school production, really kicks. Looking forward to see them live onstage! The Russians are on strike!
