The first time I ever heard from the French Heavy-/Thrash metal band Surpuissance was back in 2013 when I saw one of their gigs in Nederland where they play a show together with Ear Danger. I bought their only CD “Affamé De Metal“ there and was really enthusiastic about it. Unfortunately, their their former bassist Athe Fab who was a really friendly and funny guy, passed away in 2018, so I don´t know if the band only finished his last tracks or will also continue without him afterwords. What I know is that the new CD is as great as the first one! Surpuissance have a unique sound that is hardly to be compared with other bands. It´s a cool, fresh mix of Heavy- and Thrash Metal and a little bit of Punk roots. You can always hear that the band has a lot of fun while playing. There are fast riffs and wild drums. The harsh, but still melodic, wild vocals are really cool too! The lyrics are kept in their native French language which makes it a little exotic too. For 50 minutes the listener will be shaken like Hell. By listening you will move automatically. It´s really great! The powerful production is cool too. This is cool, fresh Metal with old school attitude, not often heard this way, but without being boring or retro at all! A killer release! Get it!
