There are a lot of different kinds of Industrial, from pop to rock to metal to extreme. The English band Binary Order has been around since 2008, and somehow this is only the first time I engage them at all. When listening to Dunes I am very much wondering whether I should listen to their back catalogue, because this isn't exactly easy on the ears.

Dunes is the fifth album of Binary Order, which is a solo project by Benjamin Blank, a man unknown to me.  Instrumentally this is like Sisters Of Mercy and Nine Inch Nails trying to merge. And then having thrown in some other inexplicable soundscapes it becomes Binary Order. This sometimes does get really heavy, really rough, but it's always is done in such a way that it is completely organised. It stays within certain boundaries, and it does suit what Binary Order does.

When I try and find That doesn't only apply to the music, but also to the voice. The way he switches from shouting to singing and back is exactly right. The thing is, even though it is very hard to explain why, I have to admit that this is very, VERY good. But I need to listen more often to make sure I know why.

If you wish to listen to this magnificent piece of art, just go to the Bandcamp site, and require it as a digital album. You can stream or download it. It's up to you. Don't miss this chance.
