Deafen was a Dutch speed/thrash metal band from the second half of the eighties up and until halfway through the nineties. They had a huge following in and around their own area of Oss, but also in the rest of our country. I have seen them a number of times, as I was the PA guy for their support Delirious a number of times. They always played a great set and did some great covers live.

They released a lot of stuff and even recorded a full album, but unfortunately that was never released in it's full length. Leading To A Fall (the original title for the 1990 album) compiles both early demo’s from the eighties and the CD, plus 2 tracks from the unreleased 1993 demo on a bonus 7” single. It also included a 12 page large format booklet filled with an extended biography, and lots of pictures from the band’s history.

This Leading To A Fall is a lot of fun to listen to and showcases how much talent Deafen actually had. So it's nice to get all this. It is released on vinyl, and you get what is mentioned above. But if you wish to receive even more, you might want to purchase the CD version, as it  has all that in addition to an extra demo from 1994, a full live concert from 1991 and some bonus tracks as well. And as this one's reasonably priced, it's worth every penny. Just have a look on the site of the record company.
