I remember the first time I listened to them, it was a long, long time ago when I was like 8 years old. The first studio album that I heard & bought were Killers and Somewhere On Time (in the eighties)! After that I've listened to all their songs at least 100 times haha. When I heard Bruce's voice and the style of the band, I felt it was something else completely new. I mean something that an ordinary band wouldn't never make. All their songs were somehow mesmerizing and deep covered in mystery and greatness, they're all really special.

I saw this fantastic band live, for the very first time back in the year 1988 in my hometown Tilburg, The Netherlands. I wouldn't forget this special event in my local football stadium Willem II. The slot of the gig I heard in my bed, I was just 10 years old, so wasn’t there all day. Nevertheless still a day to remember.

From that moment, Iron Maiden, together with Judas Priest were the soul of Heavy Metal to me!

About the new album. I was very confused when I heard it for the first time. Not a conventional Maiden album. It slowly grows while listening it more and more. The songs are musical still very good (musically and produced wise). Great bass and drums, twin guitar parts ( I love the galloping riffs ) and Bruce’s voice is still amazing! The band from eastern London developed their new album into a real intense story. Of course I would lie if I would say it’s my favourite Iron Maiden album. Still I would say honesty, the brand-new (2CD disc) Iron Maiden record represents you perfectly they are still around. Alive and kicking and probably ‘Senjutsu’, will be in many of you headbanging maniacs top ten album lists from the year 2021. It’s, as expected, a great musical journey again. Ten story telling tunes (sometimes it’s too mid-tempo) but all with the usual Maiden elements the fans need (epic, melodic and mysterious in once).

Iron Maiden’s 17th studio album 'Senjutsu' is Out now!

Recorded at Guillaume Tell Studio, Paris, France, in 2019.

Mastered at Table of Tone Mastering Ltd.

One point of critic. I miss the good old Eddie illustrations by Derek Riggs!

Up the Irons!!
