As a Metalfan of 42 years of age, I grew up with Black Metal music, but to be honest I was never really into it. Afterwards I liked the stories and magic around it and I also remember we (my friends and I) destroyed some chapels and tried to be evil haha…For me this was only two years of being “active” in the Black Metal scene (1991 till 1993) or so, afterwards I was already fed up with it. This while many of my friends jumped much deeper into this scene and started bands and lived that life. Anyway, Grabunhold is a young Black Metal band from the Ruhr area in Germany and when one befriended member of the band asked me to give my opinion of his new upcoming release. I thought, well what I can say about it? Epic Black Metal the old school way, very cold atmosphere and very well played and all sung in German native tongue. I like it, but usually I am not the right guy to tell you much more about it. Black Metal was just never my main thing. I liked much more the magic and memories around this music, then the music itself hehe.. Unless when I hear young Black Metal bands like: Doodswens from The Netherlands or Grabunhold from Germany playing the music of my youth, I love to support them and I am really happy to see there are still young people that live and breathe this music, lifestyle and ideology (that was new and exciting for us guys during the first half of the nineties). That’s why I give those bands and metal fans my deepest respect and support to keep this music alive!
