I really don’t know how Metal Warrior Records does it, but they always come up with bands that I never heard of, but at the same time are able to surprise me positively. And yes, they succeed again with Sleepless. This USA band makes that kind of metal that has aggression built into its DNA, making you want to slam into anything in your surroundings, preferably likeminded people.

This is sometimes thrashy, often very heavy and obviously angry metal, but still with a melodic, or should I call it an emotional undertone that prevents it from becoming hardcore. It is a jumpy affair, but that is half the fun of listening to Host Desecration. It never gets repetitive, it is ever changing and inventive in where it is going. You will not find one moment which is dull,  and most of all this is very pleasant to listen to.

Seeing how the majority of the band hails from Death Metal roots, it shouldn’t be a surprise that these guys know how to seek and find the right edges to take you to, and on Host Desecration they have done just that. All this means is that Sleepless is so intense it will leave you just as the band name suggests. If it does, look up their debut EP Blood Libel. It will only enhance the experience.
