JamArt is a band that is from Perth in Australia. This is definitely not mainstream. In the promotional package I received it says that this could appeal to the fans of Tool, Devin Townsend and Machine Head. The first two because of the musical variety that is on offer on JamArt, the latter because when they become really heavy their sound resembles that of Machine Head.

But mainly I would class this as alternative rock with progressive metal influences. And that’s okay, as JamArt is to listen to. The band as well as the album, as this would suck big time as background noise. You really need to listen and experience all that is being played to understand what JamArt is doing on JamArt.

After a few listening sessions I finally get it, the cogs finally fall into place and I get the feeling I know what this is all about. And it’s making me happier every time I listen to it. You will need an adventurous and inquisiting mind to absorb it all in the right way. Apparently I fit those criteria. If you wish to find out if you do, look up their Bandcamp site and purchase JamArt. I guarantee you that your ears will be burning with anticipation.
