Anvil started back in the year 1981, as Anvil in the Canadian City of Toronto. The band released 19 studio albums so far and never changed style, image and attitude. The two band leaders Lips (guitar/vocals) and Rob (drums) are true Heavy Metal veterans who always liked their music pure without any kind of trends. Anvil sounds raw and dirty and to top if off, old school to bone! Also their latest album “Impact Is Imminent”, sounds like a "new" release from the year 1983, but with a much better production. And well If I say better, I won’t say it sounds modern! The new album still sounds like good old Anvil, all with Lips typical vocal style of singing and his great guitar riffs and solo’s. Also the bass/drums and song writing is kick ass, as usual. I also love the polyphonic vocals and catchiness in their 14 tracks on here. Heavy Metal on the edge of early Speed Metal, this is what this Canadian guys are all about. All in its purest form, no trends, no posers and full of dedication and passion. Another great release of these Canadian Masters Of Metal ANVIL!

Last but not least, my favourite song on here is “Take A lesson”. This because the lyrics and also the great video shows you the real attitude of these pioneers of Speed and Thrash Metal in North America.
