This Swedish band calls themselves Mindless Sinner and they say they play Heavy Metal. Well, I disagree, because to me this is Melodic Rock more than anything. The songs, the build-up, structures, the sound and especially the feel are as if you are listening to a pure hard rocking band, not a bunch of metalheads.

Is that a problem? Well, not at all, as the music on “Missin’ Pieces” is quite good. They have that bit of quality that requires a band like Mindless Sinner to be a cut above the rest. Think of them as a heavy AOR band, and you’ll find you’re quite close. This album was originally released in 1989, and somehow Pure Steel Records thought it deserved a second rerelease. The first one was in 2003. And I have to admit that they are right, it does.

As for “Missin’ Pieces”; the only thing I had to get used to is the voice of Christer Göransson, as it borders on being off tune a lot of the time. At first, I thought he was the big mistake of the album, but after a few listening sessions I have to concede that his voice does fit the music, making “Missin’ Pieces” a very pleasant album. Thank you to Pure Steel Records to pointing Mindless Sinner out to me.
