These Finnish melodic death metallers have been going for quite a while, and have definitely made a name for themselves with their brand of music. And as the phrase goes; Don’t mend it if it’s not Broken, they have opted to keep on going in the same direction as they always have. This translates into; fast paced thrashing melodic death metal with great guitar melodies and vocals on a bed of thundering drums and rolling bass sounds.

Add to this the quite well-balanced mix of keyboards and you will know where I’m going. Or where Mors Principium Est are heading with Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity (which, by the way, is one brilliant album title). Judging by the sheer speed of the drums and the guitar riffs and solos this has the ability to be very brutal, but the keyboards and the melodic breaks prevent it from going too far.

The resemblance to a band like Children Of Bodom is very realistic. This isn’t surprising, as it has always been that way, but now it becomes more evident. And still, you will immediately recognise this as Mors Principium Est. And that’s a good thing. Especially as three of the original members have decided to join singer Ville Valjanen again. This has happened since their last album Seven (2020).  It shows in the quality of the songs and the enthusiasm with which they are performed. I for one applaud this feat on Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity. Hoorah for Mors Principium Est.

Release date for the album is April 8th 2022. Go for it.
